Quality eye care services are being provided by prominent doctor cum social activist Dr. Trilok Nath Ahooja to the residents of Gurgaon and its surrounding areas since last 52 years but Niramaya Charitable Trust was registered in January 2004 at Gurgaon (Haryana), as a charitable institution under society registration Act, 1860 with a mission of providing ‘Quality Health Care to the Rural and Urban Poor’. All the founder members of our NGO are young professionally qualified persons from middle class background. We have Doctors, Engineers, Management Professional, and Executives from MNCs etc as Founder Members. We are guided by a group of experienced professionals with a long record of successful experience in health and other areas including charitable activities. Our Medical Director, Dr. Hitendra Ahooja, MS (Ophthalmology), Fellow- Cornea and anterior segment (LVP Eye Institute, Hyderabad) is one of the foremost eye surgeons in Gurgaon. Our President, Dr. T. N. Ahooja has been successfully managing Ahooja Eye and Dental Institute and has more than 5 decades of exemplary track record of serving the society through various charitable health care institutions in and around Gurgaon. Thus, to harness existing resources, we are focusing mainly on community eye care as our core activity.

We have been granted IT exemption for donations received under Section 80 (G) and FCRA also by the authorities. BSNL has provided us a free helpline (1919) for our Eye Bank; the only approved Eye Bank in whole of South Haryana. We have been sustaining various health sector initiatives from funds provided by funders and local industrialists, philanthropist individuals etc.
